Set Free - Day 3

“Let not your hearts be troubled…” John 14:1

Are you afraid of dying? Is this a troubling thought? In this passage, Jesus is telling His disciples that he is going away and will suffer the death of crucifixion. He tells them not to be troubled! What! Don’t be troubled and worried about the death of a friend? The death of a loved one?

Death is difficult when we see it as a finality. We reflect on our lives and think, “Is this it? What will become of me? What will become of my children? What about all of these memories? Are they just forgotten? Doesn’t anyone care? Can someone do something about this?” The end of everything must be sadness and nothingness because all of life ends in death!

Jesus says, “Let not your hearts be troubled, you believe in God also believe in me! In my father's house, there are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you!” If you believe in Jesus, you do not have to be troubled or afraid. You do not have to worry about memories. You are set free from the fear of death. You will wake up on the other side with God in a place prepared just for you! Life does have meaning, but only in Christ. Everything ends in life, not death, if you believe in Jesus! Why not believe and be set free today?
