“…they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the left the other on the
right…” - Luke 23:33

They crucified the King of glory between two criminals. They
crucified the altogether lovely one between two thieves. They
crucified the Holy one between two sinners. The creator crucified
with fallen, sinful creations on both sides of Him.

Beloved, whether you realize this or not, you are one of those
criminals. You deserve one of those crosses. We should pay for our
own sins just like the two thieves. God in the flesh is hung up between
two criminals. In the narrative, one of the criminals cries out, “If you
are the Messiah, then save yourself and us!” Then the other says we
deserve our punishment, but Jesus has done nothing wrong. “Lord,
remember me when you come into your kingdom!”

The Lord will remember you if you repent and believe. His mission
was to come to the earth to save sinners by dying on a cross. All of our
sins are paid for and ready to be forgiven. Now it’s your choice to
decide which criminal you want to be. Are you the one who wants to
get away with sin and be released, or are you the other who repents
and admits to needing a Savior?

All three men died that day, but only one man went to hell! The thief
that didn’t repent and believe woke up in hell, and the thief who
repented of his sin and asked for salvation woke up immediately in
Paradise with Jesus! When you leave this earth, where will you
awaken? Your decision about who Jesus is and what He has done for
you will seal your eternal fate. Jesus pleads with you! Repent and
believe.
