Philippians 4:6
"... everything through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known unto God." Philippians 4:6
God tells us to bring our requests into Him. We can ask Him for anything. We can ask for peace, prosperity, sanctification, consecration and power. God will grant us whatever we need in order to glorify Himself and conform us to the image of Christ. One of the keys to receiving from God is thanksgiving! Can we be a thankful person in whatever circumstance we are in? Do we ask God for things with a heart that is entitled? God owes us nothing, but He gives us everything. We need to be thankful, thankful for all things at all times. Thankful when the Lord gives and the Lord takes away. We need to bless His holy name and be thankful to our God, regardless of how much or how little we have. Jesus was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief but always thanked the Father in every circumstance. He thanked the Father before He performed a miracle; He thanked the Father for being sovereign over all things; He thanked the Father before eating; He thanked the Father at the Passover meal before He suffered. If our Lord was thankful for everything, even the Father's will for Him to suffer for our sins on a cross, how much more should we be thankful in all things? Loved ones, thank God today for all His is and all He has done!
